Purely Pencils II - Day 2

Day 2 saw us using our colour pencils and graphite pencils on canvas and calico.

I've not used canvas before for pencil lettering and found the canvas we used to be a of fine grade and extremely agreeable. All sorts of pencils were used on these backgrounds, watercolours, Aquatones, Graphitints plus Neocolor II (which was another first for me). The Neocolor II worked well both on the canvas and calico but I did prefer them on the calico.

What I did love was the use of a large graphite pencil that Gemma had brought along and we able to use. I added a touch of colour with the Graphitints and have been inspired to do something with the idea for a finished piece.

All too soon it was time to pack up and call it quits for another wonderful workshop. The ideas and sheer enjoyment that comes from attending a workshop but especially one of Gemma's is worth more than you can imagine. If you have a chance to attend a workshop of Gemma's, whether in Australia or overseas, you really should.
